Budget Outdoor Makeover! | 4th of July Style

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs, Money Saving

IMG_3370I want to wish each and every one of you a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Am I the only one obsessed with outdoor living pins on Pinterest?  I just want to dive through my screen!  This week we were inspired to increase the square footage of our home by making our outdoor living space beautiful.  Since, the amount of time we are spending on the back patio has easily doubled (the weather has been particularly gorgeous these past couple of days).

The first investment we made was in a power washer.  You can rent them for an afternoon, but I am so glad that we took the plunge to purchase one.  Especially as an upcyler, thrifter, and garbage picker, having it handy to clean off my finds is so nice, and it really does help your home stay so fresh and so clean, clean!  We’re getting kind of addicted to all it can do!

Check out the before and afters in the video and some thrifty finds that brought the space together!

Summit of Craggy Gardens (Blue Ridge Parkway)

This past weekend Charlie and I headed to Ashville, NC from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon.  It was a quick trip while my mom had Carson to celebrate our 30th birthdays.  (Charlie hit the big 3-0 on the June 28th).  Here is were we stayed and some excellent restaurants we wholeheartedly recommend.

May 2015 Favorites!

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs, Dollar Tree

I don’t typically share favorites videos, but these are some products and random odds and ends I’ve been wanting to feature that I’m enjoying (but don’t necessarily warrant a whole video).

1)  Simple Human Automatic Soap Dispenser  This thing is the bomb!  Charlie got it for me for mother’s day, and after using it for a while, I can’t help but think about all the germs I avoid spreading by not touching a dispenser.
2)  La Croix Sparkling Water.  Since filming, I’m now branching out and trying other flavors.  They are all no calorie, no artificial flavors or sweeteners, no sugar fizzy water drinks.  But it feels like you are cheating and drinking a soda….or a “pop” if you are from the midwest.  Ha!

3)  Barilla Penne Pasta with Veggies.  These are SO good, and it makes you wonder how they sneak the veggies in there.  Fun fact, you can actually smell the veggies as the pasta cooks!

4)  Red Lipstick:#7 “The Best Red” by Milani.  I’ve worn this glamorous, yet some how very every-day, lip-color in most of my videos!

5)  Dollar Tree Mason Jar products: You can’t go wrong with these!  (More to be featured in an upcoming video!)

6)  Dollar Tree “Washi” tape.  I use this all over my house and I organize it in a Dollar Tree acrylic organizer (another one of my faves).

7)  Peonies.  They are so beautiful.  Probably one of my favorite flowers, and I love to cut them and bring them inside.

8)  Jesus Storybook Bible.  I love this children’s Bible.  It is beautifully written, intentional, and one of the best I have ever seen!

How to Print on Post-It Notes

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs, Organization

Welcome!  If this is your first time visiting my blog, take some time to look around and take advantage of the free printables and resources offered here.  My goal is to always keep these ideas, tips, and printables completely free of charge so you can get organized without spending anything. 🙂

Printing on Post-It Notes couldn’t be easier!

1) Print this document: Printable Post-it Note Document with lines

2) Stick six Post-It Notes on to each of the squares

3) Download this document: Printable Post-it Note Document NO lines

4)  It looks empty, but it’s not!  Customize each of the cells with text, lists, or photos with what you want to print.

5)  Feed your printed sheet with Post-It Notes into your printer.  (NOTE:  Make sure the sheet will go through the printer sticky-side first so you don’t cause a jam!)

6)  Print your customized document and there you have it!  Post-It Notes designed by YOU! 🙂

This is a collaboration video with a some wonderful friends (and some new ones, too!)  Visit my YouTube video to see more.

Secret to Diaper Bag Organization! | What’s in my diaper bag?

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs

As a mom of an almost 2-year-old, I finally feel like I know what I’m doing.  Yup.  I’m unashamed to say that it took me two years to understand balance.  I know what I need, and I know how to keep it (mostly) organized.  I say “mostly”, and if you have kids, I need not explain further. 😉

My diaper bag and organizers are right around $60.  Which, as far as diaper bags go, is actually really inexpensive.  If you buy a regular old cheap diaper bag from Babies R Us (no internal organization), it will run you $80-$100.  No joke.

I LOVE my diaper bag from Thirty One.  It’s sort of like Mary Kay (there are consultants all over that sell them, so find a friend to support if you can!  I am not a rep).  But you can also find them on Amazon.  This is my diaper bag on sale because it is the older model.  The also LOVE my mesh file system and our suction place-mat.  Those are two keys that we definitely couldn’t live without.  Here’s what I do  Would love to hear what you do!

Easter Vlog!

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs, Holiday

I love being able to share some more personal moment with you, and I love daily vlogs, because of all of the videos I make, I actually look back upon these frequently.  To remember what life was like.  Things change so quickly with little ones, and these moments are so special I never want to forget them.

Happy Easter, everyone!  God bless.  He reigns!

House Tour!

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Advice & Vlogs

Everybody loves a good, old-fashioned nosy house tour!  I know I do.  My mom bought her condo about 15 minutes from us last November, and she is wrapping up on renovations.  I’m so excited that she wanted to share her place with you.

Enjoy a casual vlog…house tour style!
