DIY Farmhouse Table | best way to chalk paint furniture

Hey, guys! In this video I share the basics of how to chalk paint furniture in a rustic, farmhouse style. This gives you the perfect opportunity to thrift furniture with solid bones and make is fit the esthetic of your home. I LOVE the show fixer upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines and have been really gravitating toward farmhouse and distressed home decor. Whether you are painting a dresser, coffee table, chairs, stools, cabinets and more–this is SUCH an easy project. If you haven’t worked with chalk paint before, here is exactly how to apply chalk paint with an easy to follow tutorial. My favorite part? You can do it in ONE day and NO sanding required. Even on previously stained or finished wood. I hope you enjoy!

SUPPLIES IN THIS VIDEO:
Chalk Paint: I used Valspar color “Kid Gloves” from Lowes. You can also use Annie Sloan and Plaid in the colors of your choice. All great! Here’s the Parisian Grey color
Chalk Paint Brushes
Sand Paper
Water-Based Polyurethane Finish (also know as polycrylic)

Note: you’ll notice the Poly linked above is not the can you see in the video, it’s only because I was using up what I already had from another project but it’s the same thing–Rust-o-leum’s Varnathane. It’s the finish you want with chalk paint! Especially if your piece is ivory or white, it won’t yellow. Amazing staying power on high traffic pieces!

Hey Do It On A Dimers! In this shopping vlog, come shop with me at Dollar Tree! If you want to find the best new fall finds (before everything sells out for 2017) you’ve got to go EARLY. Probably when you are still wearing your summer clothes. In this store tour, come with Carson and I, and we’ll show you fall flowers, signs, pumpkins, ribbon, Halloween decor, new candles, quick tips, and two easy Farmhouse decor DIYs. I decorated two spaces in my home at the end of this vlog. I’m totally jumping on the Magnolia, Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna bandwagon. Like the rest of the world. And I’m SURE I’m not doing it “right” I’m just doing what I love and telling our story. I love the rustic bucket I created with some simple chalk paint and a Dollar Tree organizing bin. Complete Master Bedroom Makeover & Tour!

Nikki from AtHomeWithNikki was in town visiting and we had a girls’ day shopping. It was such fun spending time with her and doing some shopping to help me find some trendy bedroom furniture to redecorate and makeover my master bedroom! It was a really long day to be honest. I don’t know how I would cope if I had to redecorate my whole house. I would probably spending ages reading reviews of products like this delonghi ecp3420 review before I could even make a decision. It would be fun to redo my whole house if I could, but unfortunately I just don’t have the time to do it. If I had the time and money, then I would have great fun I’m sure. Doesn’t really matter though as I’m only interested in redoing my master bedroom. If I had the whole house then that would take ages. But luckily I’m just redoing my master bedroom for the time being. Even for just one room, we spent ages deciding what we wanted and if we thought it would work well together. We bought loads of items though, even a new memory foam mattress! In this video I share my 4 simple tips for creating a master bedroom space you will love– everything is simple and budget friendly! Coffee Filter Wreath:
Coffee Filter pack (you will only use part of one pack)
Foam wreath form
Hot Glue
(hang with burlap)

Long stem flowers (stand alone so beautifully!)

 Valentine’s Day Door Banner:
2 Felt Hearts
1 floral sprig (cut)
Ribbon or burlap
1 wooden sign with your favorite saying (they have a lot of options for 2017!)
