by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Organization, Recipes

You asked for more, so here it is!  Quick and easy five minute breakfast and lunch prep ideas.  This is a collab with our friend Jen from How Jen Does It.  You can see her video here.

Overnight Oats Recipe
1/2 cup steel cut oats or oatmeal
1/3 cup greek yogurt (we used vanilla)
1 Tablespoon chia seeds
1-2 Tablespoons honey
1/3 cup Almond Milk
Whisk to combine in Mason Jar.  Refrigerate overnight and top with berries.  So yummy and healthy!  (If you’ve never tried overnight oats, the oatmeal will soften in the jar overnight.  Best served cold).

What realistic organizing looks like…

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Organization

My house is a mess, Kathryn.  I have three kids.  It’s overwhelming.  How do you keep everything so tidy all the time?  I’ve gotten more messages like this recently than I ever have before.  My answer: I don’t.  Real organizing isn’t a Pinterest board or unrealistic images in your head of everything in its place.  You are making memories in your home.  Let your family make them.  Let things be out of place.  In this video I explain what REAL organizing looks like and how you can start small to be more organized.  What will you tackle this week?

Amazing DIY Dry Shampoo

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: DIY Projects, Money Saving

Here’s a bonus video this week!  I’ve been using this trick for about 6 months.  It’s the best and cheapest dry shampoo hack I have found that is just as good if not BETTER than the store-bought stuff.  It’s natural and easy on the wallet… baby powder!  I use pure cornstarch baby powder with aloe and vitamin E.  Make sure you use something without talcum in it.  More on why here.  If you don’t have baby powder, you can also use regular cornstarch ($1 for a pound at Walmart).

For those of you who are brunette (my friend recommend this to me who is a brunette), it should work for you no problem.  Just make sure to work it into the roots of your hair well.  I’ve seen some people online add coco powder to help it blend, but she said this wasn’t necessary.

{{SALMON AND VEGETABLES}}
4-5 salmon portions
Vegetable (Broccoli, Asparagus or Zucchini are best)
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil
Lemon (optional)

Peel and cut potatoes and put in a baking pan.  Drizzle with olive oil and add salt and pepper.  Bake for 20 minutes.  In a separate pan add salmon and vegetables.  Drizzle with olive oil and add salt and pepper.  Leave potatoes in the oven and add salmon/veggies next to them for an additional 15 minutes (this will give the potatoes 35 minutes total cooking time).   Serve.  Yum, yum!

{{SAUSAGE & PASTA}}
5 Italian Sausages
1 Jar Pasta Sauce (try Vodka sauce)
1 green pepper
1 white onion

Add all ingredients to your slow cooker.  Cook for 4 hours on low (6 if sausage is frozen) and serve with pasta.  Yum!

{{EDAMAME NOODLES & SALAD}}
These are a great source of protein (25 grams per serving).  They cook in under 5 minutes and are so filling!  (Kids love them.)  Also try grocery or Costco salad kits.  They have tons of healthy options with the dressing already included!

{{EASY BURRITOS}}
2-3 lbs. boneless shoulder roast
1 jar salsa (24 oz)
Tortillas
Toppings

Add the meat and salsa to the slow cooker.  Cook on low for 4-5 hours.  Slice and serve on tortillas with your favorite toppings.  Yummy and easy!
