I love getting crafty during the week with Carson. That hands-on time is so important for filling our day (and I really think it helps him rest better for naps and a night!). One of my favorite go-tos for craft ideas is the Dollar Tree.
They sell self laminating sheets (5 for $1) and they make awesome stained glass windows with tissue paper!

In conjunction with my small bathroom organization, here is how I organize Carson’s bath toys. It’s been in place for a few weeks and we are loving it. Sometimes you just get that sudden burst of inspiration and a system that is just right!

The BEST filing system
What’s even cooler is that you get to see how it looks NOW, three years after installation. This isn’t a system that I just put into place so it looks nice and pretty now, but becomes a disaster in a few months time. This system works and I know it because I’ve lived it. If I can do it, you can!
You can use the FreedomFiler in the traditional way that you’ve been using for your entire life. Each item, store, car, person, whatever, has a folder. And then you have a million folders that will eventually get out of control. AGAIN. It’s a glorified filing system that is color coded and will fail just as miserably as anything you have every done.
BUT–if you CHANGE THE WAY YOU SEE YOUR FILES, AND BREAK THEM DOWN INTO 4 SEPARATE CATEGORIES, then this system will work it.
Here is what will drive your system:
1) Desk organizer for active files
2) Tax files
3) Vital Records and Warranties and Manuals
4) Remove/Replace
5) EVERYTHING ELSE–THIS WILL ACCOUNT FOR 95% OF YOUR FILES! This is stored in monthly folders that are purged every two years. THIS IS THE KEY TO IT ALL

Thrifting to get organized? You betcha. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite organizing tips when shopping thrift stores (namely the Goodwill, but you could be pretty much anywhere that carries housewares.)
All thrift stores are not created equal (see more on that here), but there are a few general finds that make AMAZING home organizers and all Goodwills have them. Even if your Goodwill caries basically junk.
(Easter Eggs of this video…organize your tupperware lids and store your towels! You won’t regret it!)

I HAD to get this video up because if you need organizing products NOW is the time to get to Dollar Tree. I was there today with Carson and holy bananas, it was beautiful in all its gloriousness. Ahhhhhh (that is the sound of angels singing a sweet melody)….
Sad fact is in a few days time this area will look like a disaster and there will be nothing left.
Hit up the WHITE items this year, get your labels, and get cracking on those organizing products. And don’t forget to send me pictures. I love that.
