I use them on my outside water faucets cut to size so the pipes don’t freeze. Also as a replacement for inserts in circular material drafters that wear out for your doors.
Wow! Those are great ideas! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Love, love, love the suggestions to use pool noodles for storage of extension cords, keeping boots upright, and especially for hanging my husband’s pants! Thank you Kathryn for all your useful suggestions! I look forward to receiving your Do I On A Dime email messages!
You rock lady-loo!
Thanks! Glad you found the video to be useful! ❤️
Great ideas.
I enjoy making crafts. I’d like to try making a wreath. You make things look so easy and I love all your videos.
Please email me any comments you have for me. Thanks
I LOVE pool noodles! We have used them for similar hacks ourselves, but here is some you might enjoy. We used pool noodles to ‘pad’ young trees to keep the stability ties from cutting into the trunk until the tree grows a little. Also, in our garage, our car door hits the stuff we have standing there on the side (long banquet tables, folded large dog kennels, that extra piece of plywood that we will use SOMEDAY!) You get the idea – we cut the side of the 2 ft noodle and placed it on the edge of the folded banquet table, right at the spot our car door bangs. No more door bangs, happy edge of car door. In our kitchen, we place a 2 ft whole noodle on the floor behind the garbage canister so the top won’t fly into the wall behind it. You used it at the top, but you can place it on the floor and just move it when you mop/sweep. We also put one of the fat ones behind our sofa legs, where it can’t be seen, to keep the sofa backs from rubbing on the wall (we have tile, and the sofa will slip into the wall and make marks if it doesn’t have a ‘bumper’. Use the correct length of a cut noodle to put on the sharp edge of saws/sharp edged tools etc. Keep going Kathryn – I love to get your posts – I’m frugal too!
These ideas are fantastic! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
We always enjoy your tips! We take pool noodles with us on vacation since they pack easily in the car. When our kids were younger, we’d stick one or two under the edge of the bed sheet along the side of the hotel bed to make a bumper to help keep them away from the edge and falling out of an unfamiliar bed. We also put them between our two girls in the big hotel bed they shared to cut down on space arguments. 🙂
Some good tips on the pool noodes even tho you INSIST on continually calling everyone a GUY. “Hi Guys”. So rude. I’ve also noticed you NEVER respond to any comments when people are complimenting you. Have you ever heard of the words “thank you”? You don’t have to say it to everyone, just a general “thanks guys” since that’s your favorite word would suffice.
For another pool noodle video, I would love to see you do pool noodle toys/art.
We love:
1. Cut up pool noodle and skewer sculptures
2. Pool noodle and electric toothbrush drawing robots
3. Marble/car races with pool noodles cut lengthwise
My favorite was the holder for the brooms and mops.
Glad you liked it! 🙂
