It’s another Dollar Tree Hacks video! I’ll share my current favorite hacks for organizing the kitchen and how to get your kids to help you with your laundry routine and folding clothes. These Dollar Tree tips and DIYs have both been true lifesavers in our house.
Check out my Dollar Tree Playlist and more Dollar Tree Hacks here!
First up is a DIY folding board. These are great and can be used with shirts, pants, towels and more. Normally they retail for $15-24, but you can make it for $6 at the Dollar Store. I know some people use cardboard to do this, but the clothes don’t have the same crisp fold, and it doesn’t last a long time (bends very easily), and the clothes stick to the sides. That’s why I love this hack so much!
I’ll also show how to make DIY fridge liners to catch spills and drips. If you try nothing else in this video, please try this tip– it has truly changed our fridge (and no I’m not using placemats!). It makes it so easy to clean, and they don’t slide around at all.
If you have any suggestions about Dollar Tree turntables/lazy susans, please let me know. I couldn’t get mine to work!
*This is not a sponsored video. All opinions are genuinely my own.*
I have a Dollar Tree white plastic lazy Susan in a the front corner of my pantry where it’s hard to get to items behind the folding door, so I can twirl it to reach cupcake papers, baking cocoa, etc. I have another on a top cabinet shelf holding spare salt and pepper shakers, sugar and creamer set. They both work fine. Things I have on mine are not excessively heavy. Maybe you just picked up one that had a flaw.
LOL I tried the Lazy Susan from $ store and no it does not work very well. I have a thought I have not tried yet and that would be to use it in a Pie Plate with marbles. Right now I have mine sitting next to my stove to put spoons on while I am cooking. Se’ la vi’
Another thought, if you have an extra Microwave ring that would fit in this I think they are heavy duty rollers vs the little ones in the $ store one ????
Love your little videos!
Thanks so much, Debi! Those are great ideas 🙂
Hi,
Can’t get enough of your videos, creative ideas and super sweet and funny family moments! I just wanted to comment that those Dollar Tree lazy susans don’t hold much weight before they slow down the feeble wheels and make turning difficult. I’ll have to look for the microwave plate wheels , as suggested in the comments.
On the subject, though, I did want to share another take on the DIY Dollar Tree marble and cake pan lazy susan that has been working great for me in the kitchen and other areas. I make them with one cake pan on bottom filled with marbles, followed by another round cake pan on top of that (the standard way I’ve seen), but then I go one step further and add a Dollar Tree round pizza pan on top of the 2nd cake pan and I now have a much larger lazy Susan.
I’ve used these near my oven on both sides for big bottles of my cooking oils, vinegars, etc., and these are so much better than the dollar store’s own version. Also, the pan is slightly more shallow, but again, way larger and if using heavy items, you don’t need to glue the pizza pan on, because the weight holds the items down for you. But of course they can be glued, if needed. The bigger size is also great for vanities, presentation platters, and holding other items, as well. 🙂 Thanks for your ever-inspiring content and God bless you and your family as you continue to help and bless so many others with your amazing tips and videos…
I’m so glad the DIY version has held the test of time for you. God bless you!
Love your videos can’t get enough of the ideas. I have never shop at the dollar stores and on dolor tree all I would always buy is gift bags and gift tissue. Now that I started to follow you I’m a dollar addict ?. Thanks for the inspiration. God bless you and your beautiful family today and always. ❤️
I have lazy susan’s from a hardware store that were more money but they are made much better and work well. I bought a few from the Dollar Store and they are not made as well. They seem to jam up when trying to spin them. I hold onto them to use as trays for dinner to put the condiments on and if they don’t spin so well it isn’t a big deal.
