In this video I share a closet tour and organization (how I did it on a tiny budget) and a wardrobe refresh of staple pieces to fill out my closet. Organizing doesn’t have to cost a lot and neither does finding clothing you love.

Hey Kathryn…I LOVE the drawer organizers you said you bought from Costco for the closet. Can you give me the item# or name of them?? I looked and could not find them. I have been looking for something similar and everything I have found has been outrageously priced!! Thank you so very much!
ps. I hate to admit it, but I AM a color-coordinated closet organizer!! Ok, so slighly OCD (my husband says it is more like VERY OCD; however, I like to call it simply being organized!!) So my littles are much older (26, 23, 22, and 20) so I have time to color coordinate my closet!! 🙂
I love your blogs!! God bless!!
I wish I had it Deborah! Unfortunately I no longer have the box and it isn’t available online!! Have you called the store? They may have more insight. God bless you!
HI Kathryn,
Yes I do have a color coded closet that’s easy to maintain. I basically organize my closet like you did, Jeans, short sleeve, long sleeve dress slacks and dresses all have their own sections, but within those sections, I organize by color. All black pants go together, blue pants, etc. And I separate the black and blue by another color. Why? Because when you are getting dressed in the morning by just the closet light, sometimes blue looks like black. No pretty when you get out of the house and notice the true color. Ha! It’s easy to maintain for me. When I put on hangers after ironing or pulling from dryer, I naturally sort them this way. Then when I go to the closet, I already have all my “sections” together. I just hang in correct spot. Easy peasy. You are right – unused hangers in one spot is a time-saver. I also hang them in orger (shirt hangers vs pant hangers) so when it’s time to iron I can grab and get busy. As always -love your blogs!
I organize the same way as Sharon. I got rid of all my tube hangers and now use those flocked hangers, clothes don’t slide off, plus they take up less space!
Hi! I have a color coordinated closet. My system involved buying hangers to match. My pink blouses are on pink hangers, red blouses on red hangers, etc. Then in each color category, they start with tank tops and sleeveless tops, then next is short sleeve, then long sleeve. When removing an item, I place the hanger back in the spot. When I go to rehang an item, I know exactly what area it belongs in, the hanger is waiting there for me.
It helps that I have narrowed my clothes down to colors that look good on me. I have a lot of turquoise, purple, pink, blue, black, and some red.
I have no brown, beige, orange, or khaki. Those colors just drain my color and make me look ill. It took me a while to figure that out!
Thank you for all your great tips!!!
I just made my first order from thredUP. I feel like I got some great deals for $80, hopefully it all fits, we shall see next week. I always look forward to your videos, I sent the wal-mart one to my husband, he’s the grocery shopper, let’s see if he bites!
