Must-see DIY Can Rack Organizer

by doitonadimeblog Filed Under: Money Saving, Organization

In this video I share how to make a can rack organizer…no tools required!  This project can be completed in under 20 minutes of actual “working” time.  Yup, really that simple.  For less than $10 and using closet organizing system shelving, your cupboards will thank you.  If you don’t have a pantry or store cans in your cabinets, you NEED to watch this video!

This is genius! While watching I was thinking of taking it one step further…. Instead of the tilted shelf all the way across, cut it just past the divider (need that to hold it in place) and then you have the other side to slide stuff behind there. For me – that would house those items I use infrequently, but have to have handy. For example Choc chips, or something along those lines. I could move the things over on the unshelved side to access the underside of the shelved side. I used to live in tiny, tiny apartments so I value using every spot of space when I can. Always looking to squeeze extra space out of something.

I absolutely love your videos, ideas and energy. Thank you!

I love this idea! I have a different problem though. My cupboards are so deeeep that shelf would just lie down flat. Everything gets lost in there, hidden behind things. Any suggestions for deep and tall shelves that really make no sense at all?

This is a good idea and looks great but does it cut dowm on the number of cans your cabinet actually holds?

Use the storage under the rack for excess. That way you use the oldest items first. GL!

I think it was you that loved the iroomba. You said you found one at a reasonable price from Kohl’s or somewhere like that. Would you send me the link? Thank you.

How deep do you buy the shelving, since it is on an angle? one or two inches deeper than the cabinet, or does it depend on how deep the cupboard is? Like, for example, depth plus 2 inches, or what? TY. Don’t want to buy it too much deeper, or angle will be to much, or too shallow and angle will be too low. It is such a great idea!
