In Part 1 of this travel vlog we are headed to Michigan! My home state! I’ll show you beautiful Petoskey, Lake Michigan, a house tour of my family cottage and my Uncle and Aunt’s beautiful custom home. We visit Kilwin’s Ice Cream shop, take you kayaking, visit the fish hatchery, and bike ride the gorgeous scenic views by Lake Michigan. Oh yeah, and Carson didn’t know what a phone was. Hope you enjoy traveling with us– family memories hold such a sweet and special place in our hearts.

Oh my such a beautiful place to spend family time! Too bad Owen came down with a fever but typical for children I suppose.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventure in beautiful Michigan! Your family home is close to my heart with all it’s cozy homey feeling!
God’s Blessings to you all!

We used to go up to Lake Superior in the summer and I remember how cold the water was–so cold it made your legs ache! Great memories
Loved the family tour and seeing the beautiful scenery.
Memories and family so I.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your personal family time with us, but when you have such beautiful waterways and sights to share, how can you not. I’m so proud to be from Michigan. I personally feel it is one of the most beautiful states, because it is so diverse through out the state. I live in Bay City, on the mouth of Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron.
I totally agree with you, Sandra!
Thank you for sharing your family memories and the beautiful scenery of your hometown. I was curious what the song was that you added to your video, it was really nice.
All my music is from Epidemic Sound 🙂
I love Petoskey! I live in Michigan but have only been there once. It’s nice you have family to crash at as it’s quite expensive to stay there. Does your family stay there through winter too? Awesome vlog, thanks for sharing! Loved your family cottage!
They are summer homes only. Winter is far too cold! 😉
So sweet.
I live in West Michigan and share your love of the Mitten State and Lake Michigan. This blog entry put a big smile on my face and in my heart!
Yay! Howdy neighbor!
You are making wonderful memories for your children. I enjoyed the cottages and could almost fantasize getting to stay there. What fun for you and your family to get to visit and stay for a bit. I can’t wait to see your next vlog.
I enjoy all your posts. I’ve raised 9 children and just wish I could’ve learned all the cool things that you’ve taught me through your blogs when my 6 sons and 3 daughters were younger. It would’ve made my life easier. It was interesting to see the Ann Arbor and Deusto magazine covers. We lived near Ann Arbor, Michigan and one of my sons attended the Universidad de Deusto in Spain. His grandfather also graduated from there. Small world for sure. Love seeing your cute boys and hearing your motivating voice and seeing your smiling face. What an inspiration!
So cool! What a small world.
Thank you for sharing your awesome, loved filled vacation! You and your family make my heart smile! Debbie 🙂
It looks heavenly Kathryn. It’s mid winter here in Australia so I’m envious of the beautiful weather, scenery and the gorgeous houses.
One of my sisters is heading to the USA on Monday for a 3 week vacation. She lived there for 10 years (CT & UT) and still has some very dear friends that she will be spending time with.
Looking forward to seeing part 2 of your vacation.
Thank you so much, Tracey! So excited to share 🙂
Kathryn, what a beautiful place. I had no idea Michigan was so lovely. Thank you for sharing your piece of Heaven. I want to visit there now!
Enjoyed watching your video…thank you for sharing with us.
